Price reduction on latest generation InsightSIP ultra-miniature

IO Components announces price reduction on latest generation InsightSIP ultra-miniature Bluetooth Low Energy module

 Following a recent controlled market introduction by InsightSIP of its ISP130301 ultra-miniature Smart Bluetooth V4.0 module with integrated antenna and CPU, based on Nordic Semiconductor SoC module, exclusive UK distributor IO Components is pleased to announce that InsightSIP has significantly reduced the pricing levels for this device.

 The ISP130301 latest generation module integrates the nRF51822 chip from Nordic Semiconductor, offering a 32 bit ARM Cortex CPU, 256 Kb flash memory, analogue and digital peripherals SPI, I2C and GPIO.  Combined with integrated 16 MHz and 32 kHz crystals, DC-DC converter, RF antenna and matching circuit, this module forms a standalone Bluetooth Low Energy node.

 Measuring only 8mm x 11mm x 1.2mm, this is one of the smallest modules available today.

 

 The module is specifically designed for both PC and smart phone peripherals and especially ultra-low power applications, such as sports and wellness sensors. Only an external DC power source and the appropriate sensors are necessary.

 Ultra low power consumption – 2.3 µA for standby mode and  0.5 µA for deep sleep mode – and advanced power management enables battery lifetimes up to several years on a coin cell battery. Transmission output power can be set from -20dBm to +4 dBm and reception sensitivity is -93 dBm.

IO Components offers the new Azoteq IQS263, a Three-Channel Capacitive Controller for SAR, Sliders, Scroll Wheels and Buttons 

Azoteq’s IQS263 is the first device to offer multi-functionality in a small, low-cost MSOP10 package 


IO Components announces the availability of the IQS263 from Azoteq, the world leader in proximity and touch solutions. With three input channels, the IQS263 can be configured as a three-channel slider or scroll wheel, can detect proximity to meet the latest SAR regulations (KDB 616217–D04 and IEC 62209-2 ed 1.0) in multiple points, can be used to detect a stylus or smart cover, and can also be configured as a two-channel slider with the third channel used as a key or for long-range proximity detection.

The IQS263 offers three self- or mutual-capacitance channels. Proximity wakeup allows very low power consumption, until the user interacts with the product, and a unique movement sensor prevents stuck conditions. When configured as a slider it supports tap, left swipe and right swipe gestures; the sample rate of 80Hz ensures that even fast gestures are recognised.

Feature-packed, the IQS263 is ideally suited to slider/scroll wheel remote control and  switch applications as well as lid closure detection, movement detection, wearable and portable electronics. SAR compliance provides detection for mobile phones or tablets and can also be used for detection in wireless charging stations.

The extremely small N548 is sized for wearable, home and industrial trends in a 14.0mm x 9.8mm x 2.0mm LGA (Land Grid Array) package. Designed for manufacturing ease, this turnkey hardware solution is fully integrated with PCB antenna, 32kHz crystal time base, DC-DC converter, and 24 GPIOs with six analog inputs, allowing developers the freedom to focus on their specific applications.

As the newest product in Dynastream’s component line, the N548 is priced for volume production with no usage fees. The module is pre-certified with FCC/IC/CE/JP/AU/NZ designations and Bluetooth qualification. Its reduced cost and overhead make this module the perfect platform for broad usage, simple sensors as well as cost-focused applications. The N548 highlights the distinct advantages of the established ANT protocol, including its strong position in Android smart phones, while enabling a bridge connection between available ANT+ devices and the iOS platform.

Nordic Semiconductor adds IO Components to its U.K. & Ireland distributor network

IO Components says it plans to offer customers a full range of distribution services plus specialist design, test, and manufacturing support, to enable even those companies new to ultra low power wireless and RF design to get products to market fast

Ultra low power (ULP) RF specialist Nordic Semiconductor ASA (OSE: NOD) today announces that it has expanded its U.K. and Ireland distribution network with the appointment of British distributor, IO Components Limited.

The agreement covers all of Nordic Semiconductor’s ISM (Industrial, Scientific & Medical) band (433MHz, 868MHz, 915MHz and 2.4GHz) transceivers and supporting solutions, including Bluetooth low energy / Bluetooth Smart and ANT+ wireless technologies.

IO Components says it aims to become a 'one-stop-shop' distribution, contract manufacturing, and test service provider (via its ISO 9001/14001 and OHSAS 18001-certified sister company IO Electronics) for ULP wireless to allow any company in the U.K. and Ireland to get products to market quickly: from initial concept all the way up to distribution to end customers, even if they have little or no previous RF experience.
